A Winchester man was pronounced dead at Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center after a head-on collision just before 3 p.m. Friday on Red House Road near the intersection with Peacock Road.

According to a release from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, Juan White, 39, was a passenger in a 1989 Chevrolet Corsica driven by Jason McIntosh of Powell County when it collided with a flatbed truck driven by George Berryman, 67, of Winchester.

McIntosh and another passenger in his car, Tessie McIntosh, also were transported to Pattie A. Clay. She was transferred to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. Jason McIntosh was treated at Pattie A. Clay and released.

Berryman was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation by Sgt. Scotty Anderson of the sheriff’s department.
