Madison Central’s Bradley Long turned in a nearly perfect performance but come up just one point short of claiming a state championship Thursday in Louisville.
The junior’s total score was 298 (28 10s) and finished just behind Dustin Johnson of Graves County (299) in the high school division of the 2015 Kentucky State National Archery in School Program Tournament.
Led by Long, Central took second place in the team competition.
The Indians finished with a score of 3,427. Trigg County took the title with a score of 3,440.
Madison Southern finished 16th with a total of 3,328 points.
In the middle school division, B. Michael Caudill took eighth place, Farristown was 11th and Clark-Moores was 27th.
In the elementary division, Glenn Marshall was eighth, Kirksville was 14th and White Hall was 20th.
