An East Irvine Street liquor store reported Jan. 3 that a burglar stole nearly $1,500 in liquor and cash, plus a handgun, during the previous night.
The manager of LP Liquors reported the following items were taken: a black Rossi .38 caliber revolver with a 2- to 3-inch barrel, 22 bottles of assorted liquors and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Entry was gained by breaking out the drive-thru door window, the Richmond police report stated.
Estimated loss is $1,426.95.
Two women charged with felony shoplifting
Brenda L. Mullins, 33, Arthur Jackson Lane, and Tamara C. Willis, 22, Kirksville Road, were charged Jan. 4 with felony theft by unlawful taking (under $10,000) following a shoplifting incident at Walmart, according to Richmond police.
Officers were sent to the store at 8:05 p.m. after receiving a shoplifting complaint. Officers reported that employees said they had seen Mullins and Willis fill a shopping cart with $553 worth of merchandise and then attempt to push the cart out of the store without paying for the items.
The women were detained by the employees, and after being placed under arrest, they were taken to the Madison County Detention Center.
