Little quilt auction

Little quilts hang in the Madison County Public Library.

Beautiful quilts are adorning the walls of the two branches of the Madison County Library this fall as the Friends of the Madison County Public Library are holding their 7th Annual Little Quilts Auction this month.

According to organizers, 22 quilters sewed 58 little quilts for this year’s auction which benefits the local public library.

The quilt designs are inspired by the artists favorite book.

This year’s quilts include designs inspired by books ranging from classic children’s tales to gardening and DIY home projects.

All of the artists participating donate their work to the project, helping the Friends of the Library raise more than $3,000 each year to support vital library programs and services such as the annual Summer Reading Program for kids and adults.

Bidding is open till Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. The winning bidder receives the quilt and will mail the book that inspired it once the auction closes. Each set of quilts can be viewed in-person at both Madison County Public Library locations in Richmond and Berea.

Visit the library’s website to see the quilts and to bid at
