Three students were announced as the winners of the Kentucky Folk Art contest in commemoration of the dedication of the William L. Hawkins interpretive marker.

Grace Douglas of Madison Southern High School, Gavin Proffitt of Clark-Moores Middle School, and Emy Cimala of Kirksville Elementary School were selected as the winners.

The dedication of the marker took place Sunday afternoon at the Union City Park in honor of Hawkins, a world famous folk artist who was born in Union City.
