Wow, December has gone so quickly. Actually, 2009 has come and gone too quickly. As we get older, we say things like that. I am not sure if time goes faster or if I am slowing down.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas season. We had a family gathering in Lexington on Christmas day with lots of food and gifts. It was good to be together.

A former Union City resident, Donnie McBride, made the news this week, but it was not good news. We are sorry to hear of the horrible fire at his home in Richmond last Sunday.

Madison County Right to Life will do a full page of signatures again this year in the Richmond Register to be published Jan. 17. This is a reminder of the Roe vs. Wade decision made on Jan. 22, 1973. Signatures are needed by Jan. 9. To support the cause, $3 per name or $10 per family will be needed. If you or your church wishes to participate, contact Mary Ann Strunc at checkchuc@aol.com or 623-8431.
