Hello from Baldwin,

How is everyone’s week going? I hope everyone is having a great one.

Well, January is slipping away quickly It is already the 26th.

I was just thinking the other day about the weather that we used to have in the winter months, snow and cold.

Not that I am missing the cold and the snow, but really, thunderstorms and tornadoes in January? It’s just not supposed to be that way. Then again, I think that snow is pretty.

Happy birthday wishes go out next week to Estill Parks, Monday; Bryan Bogie, Tuesday; Jerry Day, Wednesday; Justin Lowery and three very special friends of mine, Krista R. Farthing, Janet Sue Smith and Sally Sue Jones; Friday.

For those of you who don’t know Sally Sue, she is my black lab, and she is a very good friend to me. I hope you all have very happy birthdays and many more happy ones to come.

Happy anniversary wishes go out next week to Mike and Jackie Shanks, Sunday. Hope you have a great one and many more to come.

On Sunday afternoon, Salem Christian Church had a singing. There was singing by several different people, and my sisters and I were asked to sing. I especially liked the song Johny Collins and Joe Reynolds sang.

The singing was to honor their minister, John McCord, for his 25 years of ministry. Yes, they surprised John. Several people got up to tell something about what he had done for them and their church.

John was presented a picture with certificate recognizing his 25 years of preaching and a congregation picture taken last year.

Then they surprised Matt Vaught, minister of Sand Hill Christian Church. He too has been preaching for 25 years. Different people spoke about Matt, also. His church presented him with a certificate and a beautiful watch.

It was a wonderful afternoon of fellowship honoring these two men for the work they do in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It was an honor to be a part of this service. May God bestow His blessings upon John and Matt as they continue to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the area.

After the program, everyone enjoyed a fellowship time with cake and punch in the fellowship hall of the church.

The Baldwin 4-H Club will meet next Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the fellowship hall of Bethel Christian Church. Be sure to attend. We have another great project to work on and we will be planning activities for the year. See you there!

Well, I guess that is all for now. Let me know if you hear any news. Just give me a call at 623-4579 or e-mail me at
