Biggest Loser classes are beginning tonight at 6 p.m. The classes will meet each Thursday at the Union City Ruritan. Everyone is welcome to come and participate.

Chip Denief, minister of Union City Christian, is speaking Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the Crooked Creek Christian Church revival in Estill County.

The local gospel quartet, “HIS Own” will be singing on Friday, Sept. 25, at Anchor Baptist Church on Lancaster Road at 7 p.m. The quartet also will be singing for the Red House Methodist Church homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 27, immediately following the noon meal.

Flatwoods Christian Church at Waco will have revival services Sept. 24-26 at 6:45 each evening. Speakers are Terry Jones of Tiffen, Ohio; Leo Crowe of Ravenna; and J.D. Miller, music minister of Mt. Zion Christian Church, Winchester. Homecoming will be Sunday, Sept. 27, with dinner at noon.

Robert, Linda, Leroy and Louise Murphy made a recent trip to Pikes Peak, Colo. Leroy celebrated his 82nd birthday while at the summit of Pikes Peak on Sept. 3. Now that is a great way to get high on your birthday!
