It’s a rainy Tuesday morning here in Paint Lick, and although it’s cloudy, I love the fresh smell in the air.

Our humidity has taken a break, and we just might get some gardening in before the heat returns. We did need the rain for all this wonderful vegetation and “green is everywhere.

It was really good to have Bob and Opal Baker with us in church on Sunday, and as always, pastor Ted Faulconer gave a wonderful message on “Maintaining the Highs.” I always look forward to Ted’s message, and he gets his message across well.

There will be a fish fry at Tussey’s Round Hill General Store this Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Susie and her staff cook up some mighty fine fish, and I know you will like it.

This month of June is passing faster than I can take in, and I haven’t been to the community farmers market in two weeks. The market will be closed this Friday because of Party on the Squar in Lancaster, but Deborah says they will be open on Friday, June 28.

If you have a want for some fresh cinnamon rolls or chocolate peanut butter cookies, give Deborah a call at 925-9936, and she can take orders for the Fourth of July. Please call at least three days ahead, so she can schedule in the order. I am sorry I didn’t get over last Friday. Deborah sold all her garden peas.

Mrs. Thelma Starnes of Paint Lick is looking forward to celebrating with her great-grandson-Henry Jaymes Vanoy of Lancaster in his first year of life. Also, best wishes to her granddaughter Whitney C. Mason who is on the list to celebrate

Happy birthday to Becky Griffith of Berea on June 25. Becky is originally from Paint Lick, and we do miss her.

May God Bless
