How's your week going? Can you believe April is more than half over? Tuesday felt like we were in the hot, sultry days of mid summer, didn't it?
At least we missed the terrible tornado outbreak that occurred just south of us over the weekend.
If you heard the fire truck sirens on Tuesday afternoon, there was a traffic mishap at the intersection of College Hill Road and Irvine Road, and firefighters responded to clean up the debris.
Robert Gross and his family, Mom (Patty,) Dad (Patrick) and Grandma Lil traveled to Tennessee for a little fun and relaxation over spring break week. Everyone had a great time taking in the sights and activities offered around the Great Smokies (and all those good-eatin' places!)
From the desk of Tim Jones, Pastor of Flatwoods Christian Church: Congratulations to Shelia Kaylor who was rewarded recently by Walmart for 35 years of service with a trip to Arkansas. (Way to go, Sheila!)
The community sunrise service is this Sunday, 7 a.m. at College Hill. Take Bend Road then turn right onto the water treatment plant road.
Sunday morning at Flatwoods will be a special day. The choir will present music and scripture arranged by Eugene Styer. Walter Compton will lead the choir. The morning message will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Youth can enjoy an egg hunt at noon after the service ends. Some other future announcements have been placed on the website. You can check it out at: www.fccwaco.org
Get-well wishes are extended to Leon Centers who was recently hospitalized, but is out and doing better now. Thanks to all of you for your prayers.
Who got a year older? Happy birthday wishes go out to some of those we know about: Bonnie Moberly, April 18, and Amanda Dawn Brown, April 21.
Out sympathy go out to the family of Stella Wagers who passed away earlier this week. May it help you to know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
That's about it for this week -- have a great Easter weekend!
