COVID-19 cases, incident rates, and deaths are continuing to climb in Madison County.

On Monday, the health department reported 313 new cases for the previous week, as well as three new deaths.

Last week, 187 deaths were reported. On Monday, the state's COVID-19 dashboard had 190 deaths recorded since the pandemic arrived.

In total, since March 2020, 16,519 Madison Countians have tested positive for the virus.

The incident rate also increased to 45.9 cases per 100,000 population per day. This designates the county as a 'red zone' which is marked by 25 cases per 100,000 population.

The state reported Madison County's vaccination rate at 47.6%. Also on Monday, Baptist Health Richmond is treated six individuals for COVID-19. One of whom is vaccinated, five of whom, are not.
