The Kentucky Department of Public Health has reported two new COVID-19 related deaths for Madison County on Tuesday.
This report brings the total number of coronavirus related deaths to 16 people since the pandemic began.
This news comes the same day the county reported their highest single-day count with 144 new cases reported.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the health department encouraged the community to follow state guidelines and recommendations for "red zone" counties.
Madison County is one of 100 counties in the commonwealth that has an incident rate of more than 25 case per 100,000 people. As of Tuesday, Madison County's current rate is 41.2.
