On Monday, 209 new cases of coronavirus were reported in Madison County according to Madison County Health Department's social media post following the weekend.
Fifty-one cases were reported for Friday, 53 on Saturday, and 105 for Sunday.
In addition, a total of 56 deaths have been recorded on the state's COVID-19 website, which has increased by seven individuals since a previous update of 49 reported deaths on Jan. 27.
This makes Madison County the 13th highest in terms of deaths in the state of Kentucky.
In total, Madison County is ranked eighth in the state for highest total case count of 7,585 — or 2.1%.
The state's reported incident rate as of Feb. 1 decreased to 50.1 cases per 100,000 population.
That same day, there was an active case total of 1,445 cases in Madison County.
A higher number of cases from over the weekend is partially attributed to the matter that the electronic lab reporting system was not accessible for the majority of Friday and MCHD expects there to be an influx of reporting over the weekend and into this week.
