Kentucky State Police is still searching for a suspect wanted for the murder of a Corbin woman on Wednesday in Woodbine.

On Friday KSP named the suspect as Nicholas M. Rucker, 38, of Corbin and is requesting anyone with additional information concerning the investigation or the whereabouts of Rucker to call KSP Post 11 at 606-878-6622 or 1-800-222-5555.

An. arrest warrant has been issued for a murder charge for Rucker who was the boyfriend of the victim.

WOODBINE – A Corbin woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal gunshot wound in Woodbine on Wednesday.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a call from the Whitley County 911 about a shooting that had taken place at a residence on KY HWY 1064 in the Woodbine community of Whitley County.

Troopers arrived on scene and located Vicki S. Conner, 57, of Corbin deceased of an apparent gunshot wound. Conner was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Whitley County Coroner’s Office.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear and under investigation at this time.

Conner’s body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy that has been scheduled for today.

Further details will be released when they become available.

KSP Detective Dackery Larkey is continuing the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by Troopers from Post 11, Whitley County Sheriff’s Office, Corbin Police Department, Williamsburg Police Department and Whitley County Coroner’s Office.

WOODBINE — A fatal shooting has been reported in Woodbine at 814 KY 1064 and as of 1:45 a.m. Thursday law enforcement were still searching for the male suspect.

Trooper Lloyd Cochran with the Kentucky State Police confirmed Wednesday night the agency is working a death investigation. The victim is a female and her identity is being withheld at this time.

KSP and Whitley County Sheriff's Office were still on scene at 814 KY 1064 as of 9:45 p.m. Wednesday night.

Cochran said Whitley 911 received a call of a possible shooting at a residence on KY 1064 Wednesday evening.

According to scanner traffic, the agencies, Williamsburg Police Department, and Corbin Police Department were all attempting to locate a male suspect that was considered to be armed and dangerous.
