GLASGOW – Barren County Fiscal Court, via a unanimously approved resolution, declared Tuesday that its members are “vigorously opposed to the passage of any law (or proposal of any law) that would infringe our citizens’ right to keep and bear arms.”

As my wife and I were scrolling through Facebook a couple of weeks ago, we came across a story that said John Calipari was named the college basketball coach of the decade by Sporting News. We found it interesting because we are both big Kentucky Wildcat fans, and I thought it was well deserved considering all the success he has led the program to over the past 10 years.

BARBOURVILLE — A dedication and open house ceremony was held for the new Knox County Detention Center Friday. City and county officials joined community members in celebrating the completion of the jail’s construction.

CORBIN — Baptist Health Corbin has announced the recent acquisition of the da Vinci Xi Surgical System. The multi-million dollar machine arrived at the hospital last Thursday in three large boxes. The robot had to be unboxed before being moved into the operating wing of the hospital for sterilization purposes.

ASHLAND, Ky. -- Boyd County and its insurance carrier have reached a $1.75 million civil settlement with the estate of an inmate who state prosecutors said died at the county jail of internal bleeding from blunt force trauma caused by corrections officers.

Little did she know, Young would soon become an original “Riveter”, a woman working during World War II in a factory riveting and bucking on an airplane wing.
