The Madison County Public Library in Richmond was full of children, each a sweet tooth, Tuesday afternoon who came for a chocolate fix. In celebration of Thanksgiving and all the things children can be thankful for, the library invited elementary age students to come for a special snack.
“We wanted them to be able to make treats for themselves and family members,” said Bethany Halbert, the library’s youth services assistant. “We have pretzels, marshmallows and strawberries in bowls for the children to pick from, then milk chocolate and sprinkles for them to cover them if they want.”
The library prepared for about 50 children to attend the event, and within the first hour, at least 30 people had come for a taste, and to give thanks.
