Several meetings coming up

Julia Adams stands in front the tree she donated to Union City Ruritan with her granddaughter Hampton Maier.

Last week, I wanted a used part for my Ford Ranger. Looking online, I found ABR Auto Parts. I called and the part was available. When I got there, it is more than just a junkyard. It was a pleasant surprise to see a nice new building. Friendly service and good pricing were also helpful. This place is on Box Ankle Road, just a little over one mile from Union City.

Union City Ruritan Club will meet on Monday, 7 p.m. This will be "Chili Night." Bring some crackers, cheese or desserts. Last Saturday's pancake breakfast was well attended and everyone present enjoyed the morning. It was good to have Julia Adams present. Last year, she donated money to buy a tree for the Ruritan. Marshall Landscaping put the tree in earlier this year. The idea is that this tree will be lit and used as a Christmas tree in years to come.

Union City Homemakers will meet at Ruritan Building on Tuesday at noon. There will be food.
