The Richmond Area Arts Council will host its annual Celtic Festival on Friday, March 13, 6 to 8 p.m.
Patrons will enjoy Irish stew, delectable desserts, drinks, music, dancing and more.
The stews and desserts will be prepared by some of Richmond’s best chefs. Based upon the votes of guests who taste the stews, prizes will be awarded to the top three chefs.
Ale-8-One Bottling Company and the Waffle House on North Keeneland Drive will provide drinks.
For the fifth consecutive year The Paddy Wagon Irish Pub is corporate sponsor for the Celtic Festival.
Festivities will continue for adults at The Paddy Wagon Irish Pubafter 8 p.m.
Guests will enjoy the traditional music of Liam’s Fancy, a popular husband-and-wife duo providing lively Irish entertainment 6 to 7 p.m. They will play many of the traditional instruments and perform authentic Celtic music.
From 7 to 7:35 p.m., guests will be enthralled as the McTeggart Irish Dancers from Lexington perform. These young, energetic ladies have quickly become a favorite in Richmond. Older members will perform at The Paddy Wagon Irish Pub after 8 p.m.
The McTeggart School of Irish Dance is the only certified Irish dance school in central Kentucky. The school痴 mission is to build healthy bodies through traditional Irish dance, cultivate confident spirits through accomplishment and foster a sense of heritage through cultural enrichment and community service.
