Tim Jones/Union City Correspondent

Union City Christian Church will be back inside for this Sunday's worship service.

There will be the usual limitations such as masks and social distancing.

When the limitations and shut downs began in March, I thought it would only last a few weeks and we made some temporary changes to cope with it. Looking back, it will be nine months this weekend.

For those who have not had COVID in your family or yourself, this has been a big inconvenience. For those who have had it, a high percentage recover.

This gives us something to be thankful for.

Looking back through history, other people have suffered much worse than we have. Early Christians 2000 years ago, suffered ridicule, beatings, jail and even death because of faith in Jesus. That makes our inconvenience look very small.

Whatever comes our way, God has promised to be with us.

May He bless you during this season.

It has been said, "It is not happy people who are thankful. It is thankful people who are happy."
