Hello readers, it is a dark Sunday evening as I write, ending a beautiful Easter holiday in the celebration of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I had a great morning at the Paint Lick Christian Church with a nice surprise of some new people as we gathered in His name. I don't know if I'll mention their names -- I did not ask to -- but they were welcomed and we sure do pray they will come again. It was especially good to see David and Sheila walking in the front door. I'll look for you two next Sunday, and for sure, we want you all to join us at The Constitution of Paint Lick Church's Community Pot Luck. Now that was a mouthful Plans are for all our church goers to gather on Sunday afternoon, May 5, after services at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church for this long awaited get together.
Our Good Friday service at Paint Lick Christian was well attended with more people than I've seen in awhile at our church. Thank you to everyone who took the time to come and be with us this wonderful holiday. I pray that everyone had a beautiful Easter Sunday, I sure did.
The rain this past week sure did a number on our yard, and since we threw out grass seed, I can almost watch it grow. Just today, as I was sitting out in the warm sun with my eyes closed and liking to take a snooze, I spotted a huge Blue Heron in our creek ready to move silently if I did the same. Well, that pup of ours Titus got in the game and shewed the big creature up into the trees. This was maybe the biggest Blue Heron we have had to visit. Well, that took care of my nap.
It was Saturday when I noticed our big red hen was gone and I remembered on Thursday I saw what most likely was Loretta and Ike Adam's huge Bald Eagle perched in the tallest tree in my son Joe's field. What a sight! I believe that bird could have carried away two chickens at one time. I haven't seen the eagle since that day and my hen is gone. But folks, we have two new baby chicks, now a week old, and I think they are safe with mama.
The Friends of Paint of Paint Lick sponsors a start of summer yard sale usually the first Saturday of June. It's coming up already and we have a bunch of nice items. Hopefully, we can keep the date. I can post a definite time in upcoming news. If anyone is interested in taking up some space for the S.O.S. Yard Sale, call me at 925-2203 or at Friends, 925-2417.
Happy birthday to Mrs. Opal Baker this Tuesday, Apr. 22. I miss all of you. On Apr. 30, Mr. Don Weber will take on another year and a great day to Don.Then, my grandson-in-law, David Anderson will celebrate another year in his life also on Apr. 30. David is one nice fellow.

May God bless.
