Hello readers, I do believe in what the signs say "if March comes in like a lamb, it'll go out like a lion" and vice versa. I believe the start of March was cold and stormy and came in like the lion. Now, it was a surprising thunder and lightning storm on March 30, but it stopped raining here, right before midnight, making way for the crisp sunshiny Sunday. It was so cold -- I wore my heavy coat -- when on the Saturday before, everyone was running around in their short sleeves, including me but that's okay too. I'll just have the sniffles a little while longer. So, March arrived like the beautiful lamb it is that's windy and full of spritz. I'm so glad to have even a little bit of spring, that this time I'll keep quiet. This coming week is heading in the right direction with some good temps, but hold on to your coats, people, you never know.
My son just told me about some happenings up at the old Paint Lick Elementary School, says I can see it all on Facebook. I have access but I am seldom on to everything "happening" since I rely on word of mouth and the telephone, this newspaper and friends who talk to me face to face. I simply cannot find it in my day to stay on the computer unless I'm writing this news article or looking at pictures posted of my little Asher Anderson. He's becoming quite a handsome little boy and growing so fast. I spent some time with Asher and his mother and I enjoy them more every time.
Here in Paint Lick, I made my first trip to our new Dollar General Store. It's so huge and clean with lots of everything and I know I'm going to be a regular customer. We were pleasantly surprised by another family at Paint Lick Christian Church on Sunday as it was the birthday of a good friend Ms. Gail Adams and she brought her clan to church. A welcome to Mr. Drew and wife, Mrs. Leslie, Ms. Kathy and Gail's granddaughters, Breanna and Jaylynn. I pray you'll all visit again next Sunday.
After church services, we had the chance to gather with most of the area church's representatives in planning the Good Friday Service on April 19 at 7 p.m.
This planning commission is now blessed with a proper title suggested by Mr. Tom Scott of The Good Hope Baptist Church. We are now the Constitution of Paint Lick Churches. We will come together every year possible, to celebrate Good Friday and Thanksgiving as we praise God and all His Followers as we give to others in need. Anyone interested in becoming a part of all we try to do -- just come to church any Sunday. You are always welcome and you may learn something new. I do in every sermon as I listen all over once again and I find that really uplifting. Plan on coming to our Good Friday Service.
A blessed anniversary wish of 28 beautiful years to my niece Angela Katherine and Robert Isaacs on Saturday April 6. God has blessed you both. Happy birthday to Mrs. Lisa Hawley on April 8 and a really big wish to Mr. Evan Thomas Stratton on April 10.
Our "Doc" Belanger is gone and it will be sad when we may not see as many coming and going across our front porch, but we at the Friends of Paint Lick are still open every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. We welcomed many of the White House Clinic's patients and will continue to be open as more people come into our small village. Our phone number is 925-2417 and you can always call and leave me a message at 925-2203
May God bless.
