Work-release fugitive captured

Man fled work site Aug. 30

RICHMOND — The U.S. Marshals Service has captured an Madison County inmate who walked away from his work release detail Aug. 30.

Christopher Northern, 36, was booked into the Madison County Detention Center at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday.

Northern was working for the Berea City Street Department near the area of the Berea City Park when he was last seen, according to Berea police.

He was not considered a threat to the public, according to the BPD.

Northern originally was arrested Jan. 27 and was being held under a $5,000 bond. He was charged with four counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument, receiving stolen property (under $10,000) and probation violations for a felony offense, according to online jail records.

A call to the U.S. Marshals Service Warrant Division was not immediately returned.
