The State Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled that a Richmond woman’s death was caused by being struck on the back of the head, not by a fall.
Richmond Police officers were dispatched Monday to the home of JoAnn “Margie” Taylor Tribble, 78, on Teakwood Drive, to investigate a report that an elderly female had fallen and was unconscious. Responding officers, who found her unconscious but still breathing, suspected her injuries resulted from a fall.
She was taken to Pattie A. Clay Hospital and later transferred to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, where she later died of her injuries.
An autopsy revealed that Tribble’s injuries were not consistent with a fall, and detectives from the Richmond Police Department are investigating her death as a homicide.
