Waco churches planning Halloween ‘trunk-or-treat’

WACO — Hi!

Brrrr. You can tell November is just around the corner!

After an unusually warm fall (was it just last week?), these 40-ish temperatures sure feel winter-like, don't they?

Someone said the other day that he believes we have only two seasons now – summer and winter. I'm inclined to agree.

You know next week is Halloween and trick or treat for the youngsters. Most of our churches are offering “trunk-or-treat” on that night, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. as an alternative and “safer” way to collect all those treats!

Just so you’ll know, Mrs. Ashley Selby Parker, former first grade teacher at Waco Elementary, has had her baby. Sawyer Finn Parker is here! Now, Solon can officially be called “big brother.” Sawyer almost made it on Mom's birthday, Oct. 27. Congratulations everyone!

Happy birthday wishes go out to Vickie Griggs, Oct. 20; Bill Strong and Andrew Compton, Oct. 23; Scott Brandenburg and Karoline Prichta, Oct. 26; Linda Stanifer, Oct. 28; and Bart Davidson, Oct. 30.

Happy anniversary wishes go out to Charles and Louise Rupard, Oct. 17; Andy and Courtney Dunn. Oct. 23; Calvin and Teresa Marshall, Oct. 26; and Doug and Bonnie Jackson, Oct. 27.

That’s about it for this week. Have a great one!

(It was good seeing you, Rosalie, Judy, Joyce and Patty Jo at the “oh, so fine” Smokehouse Restaurant last Sunday. You have a great establishment, Patty Jo! It was a also a pleasure to see those fine Clark-Moores students on Monday, especially those from good ol’ Waco Elementary. You make us so proud!)
