    Alice Jeannette “A.J.” Wintzer Heckman of Berea, Kentucky went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 27, 2014.
    Alice Jeannette was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio, on December 19, 1927, to Edith Link Wintzer and Carl Frederick Wintzer, both of whom preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Stone Wintzer, and her husband, Richard Allen Heckman. She died peacefully at home surrounded by family.

    He was born, March 26, 1925, in Richmond, to William Smith “Smitty” Broomfield and Nancy Jane Todd Broomfield, both of who preceded him in death.

    Charles Duane “Bob” Johnson, 84, passed away Friday February 28, 2014, after a short bout with pancreatic cancer and several complications.
    Bob was born January 6, 1927, in East Point, Kentucky, the son of the late John and Priscilla Greer Johnson. Charles became known as Bob as a toddler when an aunt referred to him as “Little Bo Bo,” and the name stuck as Bob.

    Buford Wager “Blue” Fryer, 62, of Richmond, lost his battle with cancer Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at the home of his son, Buford Wayne Raider.
    Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Flatwoods Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Monday.

    Debra Lynn Lakes Tudor, 54, of Richmond, passed away early Saturday morning, March 1, 2014.
    She was born January 16, 1960, in Madison County, to Roy and Eva Gregory Lakes. She was a former employee of State Bank & Trust Company as well as Eastern Kentucky University. She loved gardening and was a member of the Union City Christian Church.

    Rosella Simpson Whitaker, 86, widow of Lucian Glenmore Whitaker, and long-time resident of the Newby Community, passed away Friday evening, February 28, 2014, at her daughter’s home.
    She was born on November 21, 1927, in Madison County, to the late Frank Simpson and Bessie Cheeks Simpson Curtis Horn.
    Rosella retired from the Madison County Detention Center where she was employed as a cook. She enjoyed her flowers and raising a garden, as well as spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Unity Baptist Church.
