Clifford Spires, age 76, widower of Edna Lee Spires, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, in the VA Medical Center of Lexington, Ky.

Clifford was the son of the late Clarence and Margaret Gadd Spires. He was a member of the Berea Church of God, was retired from Gibson Greeting Cards and was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps.  

Clifford was preceded in death by his brothers, Otis, Herman and Clarence Spires, and his son, Gary Spires.

Clifford is survived by: his daughters, Tammy (David) Seals and Karen Wilhoite, both of Berea; his brothers, Dallas Spires, Roger Spires, Hobert Spires; and his sisters ,Mary Lee Todd and Virginia Humphries. Clifford also survived by eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Hobbs officiating. Burial will be in the Scaffold Cane Cemetery with Military Honors.

Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lakes Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Matt Spires, Brent Shepherd, Blake Shepherd, Andrew Whittemore, Blain Pennington and Aaron Stepp.
