RICHMOND — Douglas Ross Golden, 55, of Richmond, husband of Kathy Grant Golden, passed away Thursday morning, November 22, 2012 in his home.

He was born on September 10, 1957, in Madison County, the son of William B. “Bill” and Jackie Ross Golden. He was the Animal Control Officer for Madison County and was a member of the Red House Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by three children: Douglas Ross Golden Jr. (Misty), Jennifer Golden Stevens (Frank) and Christopher Mitchell Golden (Amanda); one brother: Russell Golden (Jennifer); two sisters: Billie Battles (Don) and Phoebe Golden; six grandchildren: Kaitlynn Golden, Kristina Golden, Isaac Golden, Simity Kirby, Shannon Kirby and Shanna Kirby; his mother- and father-in-law: Vivian and Hugh Madden; his wife’s grandmother: Edna Oliver; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2012, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Masters officiating. Burial will follow in the Manse Cemetery at Paint Lick.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Doug Ross Golden Jr., Christopher Golden, Russell Golden, Josh Still, Gilbert Miller, Rod Barclay, David Rankin and Gregory Grant. Honorary pallbearers will be: Stephen Madden, William Madden, Michael Madden, Gary Grant, Don Battles, Roger Golden, Mike Estes, Rick Barnes, Russell Ross, Jerry Swift, Andrew Vance, Bobby Noe and Roy Noe.
