Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home
Emmett T. Kelley, 89, of Lexington, formerly of Richmond, the widower of Virginia Hill Kelley, passed away Thursday morning, September 12, 2013, at the Thompson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.
Mr. Kelley was born August 23, 1924 in Madison County, the son of the late Elmer “Doc” and Ina Coates Kelley. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. Mr. Kelley was a retired builder and finish carpenter.
Survivors include: his children, Kenneth Ray Kelley and Linda Pearl Kelley; five grandchildren, Travis Atkerson, Lisa Ann Kelley, Amy Piper Kelley, Billy Elmer Kelley Jr. and Gina Cristenson; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Kelley, Cristen Hall Jones, Kimber Hall and Kenneth James Hall; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Elmer Kelley, and his sister, Sally Katherine Totten.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2013, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 12 noon Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Travis Atkerson, Jimmy Hall, Hunter Kelley, Nick Jones, and Carrol Perkins.
