Lonie E. Gipson Sr., 68

Lee County — Lonie E. Gipson Sr., 68, of Lee County, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Mr. Gipson was born in Jackson County on April 14, 1945, to the late Alex and Ruby Mae Abner Gipson. He had worked in construction for all of his life and most recently for Grant Construction in Berea.

Survivors include: his wife, Ruth Richardson Gipson; four sons, Lonie Dale Gipson of Nicholasville, Lonie Kevin Gipson and wife Crystal of Bardstown, Brad Lawson and wife Candie of Beattyville and Mike Gipson of Richmond; three daughters, Donna Kay Gipson, Melissa Gipson, both of Richmond, and Katrina Baker and husband Ronnie of Berea; three brothers, James “Bud” Gipson and wife Sharron, Wayne Gipson and wife Muffin and J.J. Gipson and wife Joe, all of Richmond, Indiana; four sisters, Esther Hanley and husband Bill of Nicholasville, Sandra Biggs of Annville, Dorothy B. Johns and husband James of Richmond and Louise Peters of Annville; 13 grandchildren: Keith Gipson, John Gipson, Natasha Gipson, Tonita Rose, Denise Berdine, Jeremy Berdine, Seth Gipson, Josh Gipson, Lashawna Lawson, Jayden Lawson, LaDonna Smith, Leah Gipson and Jamison Gipson; and four great-grandchildren, Narae Gipson, Kaidyn Compton, Skyller Layne and Aubree Layne.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gipson is also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Ray Gipson, and a sister, Roberta Lear.

The funeral service for Mr. Lonie E. Gipson Sr. will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Abner Cemetery of Jackson County.

Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Monday at Combs, Parsons & Collins.

    Gary Lee Winburn, 69, of Richmond, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
    A native of Richmond, Kentucky, he was the son of Marcus and Johnetta Arch Winburn, both of whom preceded him in death. Gary had been an employee of the former Begley Drug Company and was a retired employee of Car Quest Auto Parts Store. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richmond.

    Joyce Rhodus, 74, passed away Friday morning, April 11, 2014, at her home.
    She was born March 23, 1940, in Garrard County, Kentucky, to the late Jasper and Mary Stella Moore Prewitt.
    Joyce was a graduate of Buckeye High School, class of 1959. She retired from the Madison County Detention Center as a deputy jailer. She loved raising flowers, working puzzles and watching UK basketball.
