Harriet Hensley Wilburn, 89

BEREA — Mrs. Harriet Hensley Wilburn, 89, of Berea, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 3, 2013, at the Compassionate Care Center with her family by her side.

Mrs. Wilburn was born in Sibert, Kentucky, on November 21, 1923, to Elijah and Lucy Valentine Hensley, the fourth of seven children.

She enjoyed quilt making and making dolls. She was also known for her love of bluegrass music. Her positive attitude, generosity, care and devotion to her family and friends will be sorely missed.

She was a member of Clarksville Baptist Church.

She is survived by: four sons, Robert Wilburn and wife Gabriele of Mesa, Arizona, Ron Wilburn of Berea, Ray Wilburn and wife Wendy of Leesburg, Virginia, and Harold Wilburn and wife Judy of Berea; her daughter, Lucy Stewart and husband Bruce of Richmond, Indiana; her sister, Nell Davis of Cincinnati, Ohio; her grandson, Marty Wilburn and wife Norletta of Berea; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Wilburn is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Roy Wilburn on April 21, 1998, after 59 years of marriage.

The funeral service will be conducted 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Ray officiating. Burial will be in Madison County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Stewart, Rod Stewart, Tony Stewart, Marty Wilburn, Skye Wilburn and Ashley Chewcaskie.
