Grace Garrett, 95

RICHMOND — Grace Garrett, age 95, widow of Everett Garrett, died Tuesday Oct. 9, 2013, in the Compassionate Care Center of Richmond, Ky.

Grace was a mother, a homemaker and a farmer. She was a member of the Eastern Star and member of the Silver Creek Baptist Church.

Grace was preceded in death by: her parents, Andy and Rhoda Bowman Edwards; her daughter, Marina Davis; an infant son, Carl Eugene Garrett; and her mother-in-law, Laura “Granny” Garrett.

Grace is survived by: her children, Bobby (Marilynn) Garrett, Andy (Hazel) Garrett, Virginia (Donnie) Cornett, Danny (Margie) Garrett and Evelyn Garrett; her grandchildren, Rodney Davis, Gina Wiles, Craig Garrett, Todd Garrett, Andrea Anderson, Shane Garrett, Chad Cornett, Scott Cornett, Jonathon Garrett, Starla Grace Garrett, Mark King and Leigh Ann Detwiler; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Grace was the last of her brothers and sisters. They were: Herbert Edwards, Della Byrd, Dewey Edwards, Jim Edwards, Ocie Sparks, Corney Edwards, Clyde Edwards and Delbert Edwards.

Funeral services will be Friday Oct. 11, 2013, at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Hisle officiating. Burial will be in the Madison County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Craig Garrett, Jonathon Garrett, Rodney Davis, Scott Cornett, Chad Cornett and great-grandson Wade Garrett. Her grandson Mark King will carry her Bible.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Lakes Funeral Home.
