Fred Edward Coffey, 78

RICHMOND — Fred Edward Coffey, 78, of Richmond, passed away Friday, September 26, 2013, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.

He was born November 30, 1934, in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, to Leonard and Grace (Richmond) Coffey, both of whom preceded him in death.

He was a retired union carpenter and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ LDS of Richmond. Fred enjoyed spending time at the Horizon Adult Healthcare Center.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Alice Christine (Bullen) Coffey of Richmond; one daughter, Christine Bristow (Andrew “Skeeter”) Bristow of Richmond; six sons, Edward Coffey (Lisa) of Frankfort, Bobby Coffey (Shirley) of Jacksonville, Fla., Noel Coffey (Crystal) of Brockton, Mass., Billy Coffey (Debbie) of Carlisle, Ky., Steven Coffey (Debbie) of Statham, Ga., and Matthew Coffey (Laura) of Richmond, Ky.

Other survivors include: two sisters, Berthie Gibson of Berea, and Mary Roulerson of Jasper, Fla.; two brothers, Rev. Clyde Coffey and Paul Coffey of Berea; his grandchildren, Sgt. Andrew Bristow Jr., Stephanie, Elaine, Michelle, Eddie, Ryan, Tyler, Catie, Bobbie May, Sarah, Bobbie Jr., Chuck, Nora Jean, Kent, Cory, Jimmy, Steven, Christopher, Tara Lynn, Kaitlynn, and Amanda; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one grandchild, Jamie Lynn; one brother, James Coffey; and two sisters, Noami Hall and Dorothy Newman.

Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with Bishop Jeff Greff officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Lakes was born June 13, 1930, in Rockcastle County to James and Delia Johnson Abrams.
    She was retired from Brown & Williams Tobacco Company in Lexington. She was a faithful listener of the WLJC Gospel Broadcast and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

    Mrs. Hardy was born November 12, 1912, in Valley View, Kentucky. She was a homemaker, a retired seamstress and was of the Baptist faith.

    Gary Lee Winburn, 69, of Richmond, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
    A native of Richmond, Kentucky, he was the son of Marcus and Johnetta Arch Winburn, both of whom preceded him in death. Gary had been an employee of the former Begley Drug Company and was a retired employee of Car Quest Auto Parts Store. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richmond.
