Danny Lee Mullins, 71

RICHMOND — Danny Lee Mullins, 71, husband of Mary Ruth Stewart Mullins, passed away early Thursday morning, December 5, 2013, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center.

Danny was born October 22, 1942, in Floyd County, Kentucky, to the late Frank and Oma Jones Mullins.

He graduated from McDowell High School, attended Alice Lloyd College and went on to graduate from Eastern Kentucky State College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Danny was a long- time employee of IBM/Lexmark working in quality control, and after 30 plus years retired to his favorite job, “Full Time Grandpa.” He loved spending time with his family and friends and especially watching UK college sports.

He was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, and was a 40-plus year member of Richmond Lodge No. 25 F&AM Danny was a member of the Madison Hills Christian Church.

In addition to his wife, Danny is survived by: his three daughters, Sandi Stevenson (Anthony), Stephanie King (Scott) and Bethanie Tucker (Mark); six grandchildren, Taylor King, Colton Taylor, Caiden Taylor, Ava Tucker, Wyatt Stevenson and Walker Stevenson; two brothers, Edward Mullins and Ronald Mullins; three sisters, Delores DeLong, Jettie Howser and Joyce Mullins; as well as numerous other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Kermit Mullins.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at the Madison Hills Christian Church with Bro. Marty Frazer and Bro. Billy Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Masonic Rites will be observed at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Patton, Johnny Smith, Bob Royster, Mark Tucker, Anthony Stevenson, Scott King and Kenneth Baker.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, Main Street, is in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Lakes was born June 13, 1930, in Rockcastle County to James and Delia Johnson Abrams.
    She was retired from Brown & Williams Tobacco Company in Lexington. She was a faithful listener of the WLJC Gospel Broadcast and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

    Gary Lee Winburn, 69, of Richmond, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
    A native of Richmond, Kentucky, he was the son of Marcus and Johnetta Arch Winburn, both of whom preceded him in death. Gary had been an employee of the former Begley Drug Company and was a retired employee of Car Quest Auto Parts Store. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richmond.
