Retta Faye Jett Adkins, 77, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013, at Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. She was the wife of Dr. Bertee (Bert T.) Adkins.

Faye was born on April 6, 1936, in Lienarts, Tennessee, and was the daughter of Oral Kent Jett and Jennie Andrews Jett, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Oliver Springs High School in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, and is of the Baptist faith. Faye was a loving wife and a world traveler.

In addition to her husband, Faye is survived by one brother, Kenneth Oral Jett; four sisters; Shirley Silver, Hazel Timms, Jo Taylor, and Helen Smith; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Funeral services for Faye Adkins will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2013, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Chaplain James Demaray officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Bertee (Bert T.) and Mrs. Adkins' nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Daniel Henderson, Dylan Bertee Henderson, and David Daniel Henderson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2013, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell.
