BEREA — Charles M. Moore, 91, of Berea, passed away, Saturday, November 23, 2013, at the Thomson Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.

Born November 4, 1922, in Huntsville, Arkansas, he was a son of the late John Frank & Dora Belle Simpson Moore. He had been a bulldozer operator who had to build the Alaska Pipeline, an avid ham radio operator, a member of the Lancaster Masonic Lodge No. 104 F&AM, a member of Caney Baptist Church and a World War II Army and Air Force veteran having served in the Pacific Theater.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: three brothers, Richard, Frank and Bill Moore; and two sisters, Mary R. Ball and Nan Stone.

Survivors include: a son, Jerry (Ann) Moore of Whitesburg, three daughters, Dora Sue (James) Davis of Lancaster, Mildred Moore of Richmond, Nancy (Bill) Melton of Berea; and one brother, Joe Moore of Tampa, Florida.

Also surviving are: eight grandchildren, Annie Rymer, Carrie Cornett, Jamie Morton, Randall Stathers , Mariah Moore, Matthew Moore, Joey Moore and Rachel McFarland, as well as seven great-grandchildren, Dalton, Aiden, Emily, Levi, Cameron, Lilly and Maddy.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at Ramsey Funeral Home in Lancaster by Rev. Lawrence Baldridge with burial and military honors in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joey & Matthew Moore, Randall Stathers, Jeff Cornett, Shawn Rymer and Craig Morton. Visitation was Monday at the funeral home. Friends and family may leave condolences on his tribute page at
