Riley J. Ray Jr., 80

RICHMOND — Riley J. Ray Jr., husband of Linley U. Fullilove Ray for 62 years, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013, in Richmond at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center.

Born November 29, 1932, he was the son of the late Riley J. Ray Sr. and Gladys Randall Ray. Riley was a retired production manager for IBM. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Westside Christian Church and an avid fisherman who enjoyed sharing his catch with friends and family.

In addition to his wife, Linley, he is survived by: two sons, Bobby Ray of Richmond, Ky., and Ricky Ray (Carol) of Lexington, Ky.; two brothers, Arthur Ray (Alene) of Richmond, Ky., and Joe Billy Ray (Pat) of Vancouver, Wash.; one sister, Betty Taylor of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren, Kari Ray, Adam Ray and Jennifer Ray; two great-grandchildren, Michael Ray and Mazzy Ray; numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.

Funeral services for Riley will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2013, at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Matt Vaught and Bro. Mike Simpson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jack Neeley, Ed Neeley, Mike Stull, Gary Bryan, Shawn Elam and Gene Turner.  Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Campbell, Mike Smyth, Wilbur Crowe, Tim Wells and Donald Roberts.
