RICHMOND — Sherman Lee Mason, 76, of New Albany, Indiana, formerly of Richmond, died Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.

He was born August 22, 1937, in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, to Jack and Carrie (Allen) Mason, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Edith Fay Mason.

Sherman was a retired groomer at the Kentucky Horse Park and had worked at the Meadow Gold Ice Cream plant in Richmond. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: one stepdaughter, Virginia Miller (Larrell); one step-grandson, Rodger Miller (Pam); two step-great-grandchildren, Alexa Miller (Jonathon) and Austin Miller. He also is survived by one brother-in-law, William Fielder, and one sister-in-law, Lorean Mason.

Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, October 21, 2013, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Hoover officiating. Burial will follow at Viney Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Monday until time of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Rodger Miller, Austin Miller, Paul Kaufer, Jonathon Kiviniemi and Larrell Miller.
