RICHMOND — Opal Stone Clark Chandler, 89, of Rockvale, Tenn., formerly of Richmond, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at the NHC HealthCare, in Murfreesboro.

She was born on May 2, 1923, in Richmond, to Jesse O’Neal Clark and Leatha Ann Howard Clark, both of whom preceded her in death, and was the widow of Lloyd “Bill” Chandler. She was a homemaker and a member of the Big Hill Christian Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Margaret McCulley and Reva Madeline Warren; two brothers, Earl Coleman Clark and Harold Elliott Clark; and two grandsons, Jarred Michael Chandler and Chad Elliott Chandler.

Mrs. Chandler is survived by one son, Michael L. Chandler (Barbara) of Rockvale, Tenn., and two sisters, Iona Jane Roberts (Donald) of Richmond and Eva Mae Wilson, of Paducah; four grandchildren, Amy Michelle King (Frankie) of Richmond, Tara Lynn Chandler of Houston, Texas, Gregory Alan McCord of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Phillip Michael McCord of Rockvale, Tenn.; three great grandchildren, Timothy Blake King (Megan), Michael Franklin King and Dustin Vaughn King; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, 2012, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Jack L. Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 9 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Blake, Dustin, and Frankie King, Dale Warren, Gregory and Phillip McCord. Honorary bearers will be Douglass Alan Wilson, Mark Steele and Jimmy Griggs.
