RICHMOND — Virgil Burns, 65, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

Born in Leslie County on Jan. 30, 1947. He was the son of William and Dora Holland Burns, both of whom preceded him in death. He was the owner and operator of Air Tite Insulation Company of Richmond and was of the Baptist faith.

Virgil is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Ridge Burns, of Richmond; one son, Virgil Burns, Jr.; one step-daughter, Michelle Shaffer (Chris) of Middletown, Ohio; one brother, Hershel Burns of Richmond; three step-grandchildren, Bradley Ray Landis, Addison Shaffer and Zaiden Shaffer; several nephews and nieces, including Teresa Burns of Richmond, and several cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Bro. Dale Holman officiating.

Burial will follow in Middletown, Ohio.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Roy Conner, Virgil D. Burns, Tommy Cope, Hershel G. Burns,

Roy Jackson and Wayne Owens.
