Janrose Davis Congleton, 85

RICHMOND — Janrose Davis Congleton, 85, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, in the Berea Health Care Center.

She was born June 2, 1927, in Richmond, Ky., to William Andrew and Ada Green Bicknell Davis, both of whom preceded her in death.

Janrose was the widow of Don Porter Congleton and was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Davis Barclay.

During her working career, she had been employed by the John F. Whelehan Contracting Company of Lexington and Concord Cleaners of Richmond. She was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith.

She is survived by: two sons, Stephen (Patricia) Smith of St. Louis, Mo., and William Brent (Susan) Congleton of Waco; and three grandchildren, Stephanie (Michael) Byrd, Nathan (Emily) Congleton and Breann Congleton. She also leaves three special cousins, LaVern Mays, Bessie (Gene) Reed and Janis (Bob) Day, all of Madison County.

Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Oldham, Roberts and Powell Funeral Home, with Dr. Glenn Birkett officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time Thursday.
