RICHMOND — Floyd D. French, 77, of Dreyfus Road, passed away in his home Sunday, Feb. 25, 2013.

Floyd was born in Brodhead, Ky., to the late James Wesley and Cora Wilmot French.

He was a machinist by trade and a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a charter member of Dixie Park Baptist Church and charter member and board member of Church on the Rock.

He is survived by: his loving wife, Opal French; four children, Marlena (Kenneth) Agee, Carla (Glenn) Reed, Lester (Sandra) Powell and David Powell; one brother, Paul (Myrtle) French; and one sister, Naomi Ramsey. Eleven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many more adopted grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive him.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday at Church on the Rock with Rev. Mark Sarver officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Pallbearers will be James Wesley French, Carl Vincent French, Donald Edward French, James Earl French, Mike Robertson, Chris King, Wayne Hensley and Randall Ray French. Honorary bearers will be Darnell Hill, Bimbo Robinson, Mike Anderson, Wayne Prewitt, Mark Sarver, Trenton Combs, Adelou French and Steve Davis.
