BEREA — Aloma June Barnes Earles, of Berea, formerly of Winchester, KY, passed away May 10, 2013.

Born in Point Marion, Pennsylvania on November 3, 1927, she graduated from Berea Foundation School and Berea College. She worked as a schoolteacher and as a social worker, and in later life as a financial aid administrator for Berea College.

She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Winchester, and later of Union Church, Berea. Her life was centered on providing love and hospitality to family and friends, and she will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Emmitt H. Earles; a sister, Lois B. Pryor; and a brother, Harold M. Barnes.

She is survived by: a son and daughter-in-law, Edward H. and Leslie Earles of Winchester, Ky.; a daughter, Laura L. Earles of Berea, Ky.; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Helen V. Connelly of Berea, Ky., and Betty B. (Hugh) Card of Ft. Worth, Texas; Sylvia Barnes of Berea, Ky.; and Katherine Earles of Danville, Va. And numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Union Church in Berea, Ky.

Contributions in Mrs. Earles’ memory may be made to the general scholarship fund at Berea College, or to local animal shelter or food bank.
