RICHMOND —

Floyd Arnold Prewitt, 86, of Richmond, passed away early Thursday morning, May 1, 2014 at the Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his favorite nurses.

Floyd was born in Madison County on March 16, 1928, to the late Thurman and Lydia Johnson Prewitt.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. A quiet man who loved life, Floyd enjoyed watching UK basketball and listening to his Hank Williams gospel music CDs.

He is survived by: his one brother, Jesse Prewitt of Lexington; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by: one brother, Allen Prewitt, and three sisters, Crystal Greer, Margaret Rogers and Louise Uber.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2014, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bradley Johns officiating.

Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
