Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial

RICHMOND — Delores (Dee) Maxine Ditsch, 77, of Richmond, Ky., passed away February 15, 2014, under hospice care at her daughter’s home in Las Vegas, Nev., after a long illness.

Delores was born December 1, 1936, in Sturgis (Hereford), South Dakota, to Harold and Edna Ellett. She was married March 4, 1956, to Donald C. Ditsch of Alliance, Nebraska.

She traveled with her husband and family while he served his country in the USAF. After retiring, they settled in Newcastle, Wyo., where she worked for the public health nurse and later became a foster parent. They moved to Cheyenne where they were house parents for a local attention home then worked for Cowboy Dodge before retiring. She later moved to Richmond to live with her loving son and then to Las Vegas to be with her daughter for health reasons.

Delores is survived by: her loving children, Donald L. Ditsch of Florence, Colo.; James A. Ditsch of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Brian L. Ditsch of Richmond; Kathleen M. Vaknin of Las Vegas; her loving sister Lynda M. Coker of Yellville, Ark.; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Delores is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Edna Ellett, Sturgis, S.D.; husband Donald C. Ditsch, Cheyenne, Wyo., and son Richard C. Ditsch, Las Vegas.

Cremation has taken place at the Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial in Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial (702-382-1000).

In accordance with Delores’ request, she will be laid to rest July 4 in Cheyenne with a small service for family and friends.
