Donald Lee Rose, 65, of Chestnut Street in Berea, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013.

Donald was born in Jackson County, Ky., to Ralph and the late Dorothy Reece Rose.

He was the very successful business owner of Foley’s Florist. He was past president of the Kentucky unit of Telefora Incorporated, received a Lifetime Achievement award from the Kentucky Floral Association and was a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church and also enjoyed visiting White’s Memorial Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his father, Ralph Rose, and sister Reponzia Rose Staggs and her husband James.

Funeral services will be conducted 11a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Gentry and Rev. Truman Geeslin officiating. Burial will follow in the Reece Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Bob Prewitt, Tom Hall, Don Shultz, Randy Harris, Thomas Prewitt and Randy Powell. Honorary bearers will be T.J. Davis and James Staggs.
