William ‛Robert’ Renfro, 63

BEREA — William “Robert” Renfro, 63, of Berea, passed from this life peacefully Sunday, April 13, 2014, in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born June 23, 1950, in Madison County, Kentucky, the first son of the late Norman Renfro and late Joan Wells Renfro Thompson.

Robert spent his early years in Kentucky but later moved to Ohio for his vocation. A man of strong work ethic, he followed his career path to South Carolina and became superintendent for US Group. His desire to be with his grandsons led him to retire and return to Kentucky where he spent his final years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and nature walks on the farm he occupied with his grandsons as well as working in the family business.

He was the beloved, treasured father of one daughter, Michelle Lee Renfro Alexander (Chuck) of Berea; and two grandsons, William Luke Alexander and John Levi Alexander; and the respected and helpful father-in-law of Chuck Alexander.

He also holds a special place in the hearts of: his four brothers, Scott Renfro (Linda) of Melbourne, Florida; Stevie Clarence Renfro, Benny Thomas Renfro (Peggy) and David Allen Renfro (Darlene), all of Richmond; and one loving sister, Judy Ann Guillen (Doug Anderson) of Berea.

He also will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews: Eric Renfro (Shelley), Alicia Watts (Brandon), Tasha Spurlock (Brandon), Kayla Renfro, Spencer Renfro (Susan), Justin Renfro and Chase Renfro and their children.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by: one brother, Johnny Darrel Renfro, and a nephew, David Clay Guillen.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Hospice Care Plus and the Compassionate Care Center of Richmond for their loving kindness and gentle touch. Their dedication to the comfort and wishes of both family and patient are a true blessing.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Brother Scott Guiley officiating.

Burial will follow in the Doylesville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Alexander, Luke Alexander, Levi Alexander, Scott Renfro, Eric Renfro, and David Renfro. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Renfro, Steve Renfro, Lonnie Centers, Darrell Daugherty, and Doug Anderson.

Memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s name to the Hospice Care Plus, 208 Kidd Drive, Berea, Kentucky, 40403.
