Barbara Ellen Popyach (nee Smith) passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
Born in Montgomery County, Barbara was a graduate of Camargo High School, class of 1960. She spent much of her life as a public speaker in the area of “Dress for Success” and had been a columnist for a number of newspapers, including the Richmond Register, in the area of “Beauty and Health.”
A published author, she led writers’ organizations in three different states and was influential in developing future published authors.
Other highlights of her life included modeling and TV work in Atlanta, Georgia, becoming an ordained minister and developing her own cosmetic company, “Colorisma.”
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Stephen; her son, Charles Ensor; grandson, Matthew Ensor; mother, Kathleen Smith; and sisters, Patty Toy and Wanda Wilson.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the First Baptist Church, 925 Woodford Drive, in Mt. Sterling, followed by an 11 a.m. memorial service.
