BEREA — Calvin Curtis Dean, age 84 ,of High Point, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday July 17, 2013.

Calvin was born in Jackson County, Kentucky, to the late Gordon and Myrtle Hudson Dean.

He was a retired manager for a waste water treatment plant in Richmond, Indiana, where he spent most of his years before moving to North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Carrier Dean, and several siblings.

He is survived by: his children, Gary Dean, Bruce Dean, Alan Dean, Rick Dean, Wanda Evans, Patricia Larsen and Terry Dean; three sisters, Vola Dean, Lola Gay and Ruby Renfro, nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Silver Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Hisle officiating. Burial will follow in the Berea Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, July 22, 2013, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Silver Creek Baptist Church.
