RICHMOND —

Ralph Rose, age 90, widower of Dorothy Reece Rose, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, in the Compassionate Care Center of Richmond with his daughter by his side.

Ralph, a native of Sand Gap in Jackson County, was born to the late Clark and Vesta Bell Cain Rose.

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Sand Gap Baptist Church.

Ralph was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his son Donald Lee Rose, his siblings John Rose, Jim Rose, Janie Lainhart, Marie Rose and Alpha Rose.

Ralph is survived by his daughter, Reponzia Rose-Staggs of Berea, and his brother in Christ, Joe Rose.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Eugene Gentry and Bro. Clyde Coffey officiating. Burial will be in the Reece Cemetery at Sand Gap.

Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lakes Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Joe Rose, Billy Payne, Howard Smith, Hershel Williams, Ronald Richardson, and Lemuel Richardson.
