Doris V. Kaylor, 84, of Berea, passed away Saturday morning, March 2, 2013, in her home.

Doris was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on June 23, 1928, to the late Floyd and Mary Lou Lindsey Wood.

She was a retired employee of the former Pattie A. Clay Hospital and always recalled the friendships formed through those years. Doris was a very active helper for the Special Olympics and was instrumental in the forming of “Families & Boosters,” an organization that aided and encouraged the special-needs children and adults of Madison County, their family and friends. She was a member of the Bybee United Methodist Church.

She is survived by: two sons, George Alan Kaylor (Ann), Mark Kaylor; four daughters, Sue Teater (Lynn), Bonnie Gadd, Teresa Baker and Donna Williams (DeWayne); two brothers, Myron and Jackie Wood; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.        

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, George Kaylor; one son, Floyd Kaylor; and one grandson, Brian Baker.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with pastor Robert Stroup officiating. Burial will follow in Flatwoods Cemetery of Waco.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Kaylor, Matt Kaylor, Andrew Gilpin, Jacob Lainhart, DeWayne Williams and Pete Cain.

The Kaylor family would like to express their appreciation, and thanks, to Hospice for the love and care that was given to their mother during her illness.
